Hey There,
As the year comes to an end, we feel the need to access our individual lives in relation to what we have achieved and what we haven’t achieved. This could easily influence and steer you towards making your next career move. Before you sign the dotted line at the new company that is offering you a job, you need to ask yourself these two basic, yet so important questions.
1. How Excited Am I?
The very first red flag that should not be ignored is if you are not excited about this new job, or at last anticipating the new job. Although, the new job might pay more and might come with a prestigious status, you need to consider the opportunities this new job presents to you. You need to ensure that there would be room for growth that would align with your personal career goals.
In most cases, if you aren’t excited about a new job, it might be triggered by fear of the unknown. This brings us to the next point.
2. How Scared Am I?
You might ask yourself, “If this new job doesn’t scare me a little bit, is it too conservative? or are there challenges that would make me grow while I am at the job?”
Fear usually comes alongside uncertainty, so whenever you want to make a career move, it would most likely come with a little level of apprehension. Don’t feel bad if you are scared about your new role. Sometimes, fear is good. It shows that you are gearing up for the opportunities and challenges that are coming your way. Always remember, that a new job is mostly about growing, building relationships and learning from other people. So make the move, and stop placing safety in your current comfort zone over an opportunity to grow and learn.
That being said, i guess have the formula for a good career move. Are you scared and excited?
An adequate fusion of both elements are more powerful than you can even imagine. They might be a hunch that something great is about to happen at that new job. So if your answer is yes to both questions, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and sign the dotted lines!
